The DIY Backyard Stage has been officially opened. A couple of weekends ago, during an evening of howling winds we had the cutting of the ribbon and our first concert. Outdoor lighting was manufactured using reclaimed jars of various sizes, some wire and candles. An array of chairs were set up for the audience and we were good to go. The headline act for this first ever DIY Backyard Stage concert was The Great Narraweendini. BK treated us to a set played on the Oud, an instrument that is an ancestor of the modern day guitar. He also performed an original composition which can be seen in the film below. Berg took to the stage to attempt some stand up comedy. After an enjoyable first night of the Backyard Stage, plans are afoot to book future acts.

Nice! I love seeing your backyard stage in action. How fun. My 6 yo thespian keeps asking for a stage (not a swing, not a slide, but a stage) and I have my eye on this one to replicate. Nice work.
