So I ventured into the front yard and picked another Pepino for dessert. It tastes like Rockmelon and grows massive fruit for such a small plant. At least on our block it thrives/tolerates a sunny position in bone dry soil. It is better known in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile. That been said, it seems to cope just fine in Australia. It is not known to handle supermarket conditions well, so it is rarely stocked and best home grown.
