Banger Racing comes to Australia

A few weeks ago I travelled to Cessnock to film what is believed to be the first Banger Race ever held in Australia.

Banger Racing differs from tradiotional Demolition Derby whereby competitors race around a predetermined track. This inaugural race included a jump and two brightly painted vans used as obstacles. True to the Australian demolition derby approach, drivers did not hold back and pushed themselves to the outer limits of human achievement.

Such was the success of this Aussie Banger Race, a follow up event is planned in a couple of months with a generous prize purse and the promise of a wildly spectacular event for the motor racing enthusiast.
