Sometimes Vege gardening seems like an awful lot of work with very little reward. You laboriously prepare the soil, removing weeds and adding organic fertiliser. You plant your seeds or seedlings, mulch and water daily. Then just as the promise of harvest looms, a cheeky possum or other such critter comes along and steals your food. Other times you buy a punnet of Bok Choy and before you can finish building your Post-Apocalyptic Vertical Vege Vehicle, you throw the punnet onto a nearby raised Vege bed for safe keeping. The Bok Choy drops a tap root, grows like there is no tomorrow and like a student studying under the threat of a strict disciplinarian over achieves and makes everything else look second rate.
